The Jayde Memorial Event: The Zone is now live! Part One has been posted in it's entirety. Individual monster attacks are open to players to play out. Please refer to the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. wiki for further questions or ideas on creature abilities and attacks! Part Two will be posted a week from today! As per Jayde's original plot request post, the second week will mark the discovery of the Source of the event - and the resulting attack upon it and the uber-monsters protecting it. Without Strelok to lead the assault, the post will contain a handful of prompt-post enemy descriptions for players to respond to - or not, if you wish to freeform it up. Additionally, thanks to the complexity of the source canon, our own Dragon has volunteered to assist with some NPC wrangling: redshirtstalker will be your generic info/helper NPC for the duration of the event. And another big thanks to all our helpstaff for their info gathering and fact checking for this event. While nothing could compare to having Jayde here running her event, sharing a canon that she loved, with our combined efforts, hopefully this event may be a passable shadow of what Jayde originally planned. She was a brilliant player and friend, and we won't soon forget her. <3 Thank you all who participate, and please enjoy the event!

The new end date for the Altered History event will be at end of day November 12th, central standard time. At that point, the 'affects' of the reality-warping wave will have worn off, and all characters will return to their original physical and mental states.
However, it is at your own discretion whether or not your character remembers their time as their altered selves! Feel free to put them through their own personal anguish at their actions, or likewise feel free to have them completely surprised that they were doing anything out of the ordinary~ Since the Lambda impacts different individuals in different ways, consistency need not apply.
~~~~~
The Pillar itself is going to remain standing in the junk pile for the time being. Those interacting with it are going to be learning some key facts shortly about ways to 'nullify' it, and I'd like to give all characters a chance to leave a mark in this major game piece. With AC currently going on, this should also provide an extra opportunity to get in some tags. Additionally, the outcome of this event will have an impact on Firstforged relations...since they cannot return until the pillar has been rendered inert.
I, the Saeru-type mod, will be working to focus on those pillar tags in the coming days so that we can get this wrapped up before AA~
Thanks for bearing with us and do ENJOY the last few days of the Altered History event!
This event will run from October 25th through November 8th.EDIT: Sign-ups extended until end-of-day October 22nd. Event TextTonight there is a storm. Lightning flashes across the sky, and the tang of electromagnetic interference is thick in the new air of Cybertron. The strikes are beautiful, lancing out in every color of the visual spectrum and more than a few colors beyond it, moving through the stars.
There are no clouds, however. There is no weather or rain. There is only the Lambda, churning violently above the Haven, pulling winds in vast, large circular patterns around its epicenter: The Junk Pile. Dust swirls. Debris flies. The winds grow stronger and stronger through the night, until even the heaviest robots find themselves impeded if they try to approach.
It is only the Firstforged who remain steadfast, appearing one by one from their temples to approach the temptest storm. In the morning, they gather, and as the first light of the distant Cybertronian sun crests the horizon, they each unsheathe their weapons of choice.
The winds calm.
The lightning ceases.
For a moment, all is well.
Then, the Pillar strikes the ground.
It sends up shockwaves, burying the Firstforged in clouds of dust and rubble, making a deep noise like vast plates of metal buckling. To some, the sound seems oddly high-pitched and painful to hear. To others, it is disorienting.
To a select few, it is even changing.
When the dust clears, the Firstforged are gone and the junk pile has resettled, its peaks and valleys utterly different than they have been before. Buildings outside of the temples may have sustained damages from the heavy winds, and some electronics will still be functioning oddly from the lightning strikes.
However, there is something even stranger to note.
Sitting in the junk, amidst the rubble, is the Pillar.
It is precisely in the center of the Haven, just beneath the lambda and extending up as far as the naked eye can see--appearing even to reach into the lambda itself. Those who approach will find it makes a low-pitched hum, and is eerily warm to the touch. However, even those who do not approach will find it difficult to ignore the quiet unsettling feeling it leaves by just existing.
What’s worse is those who were ill-affected by the initial shock of its landing. They’re different, now, in both appearance and thought. They cannot remember their time here in the Haven any more than they can remember aspects of their lives before. Now, they remember different lives.
Alternate lives.
They act as if their past has utterly changed...and for a time, the Firstforged are not around to explain it.
It is up to the citizens of the Haven to realize what is wrong, and to come up with a solution for the problem--if one is even possible. It is up to the citizens to hold down the fort while its protectors are away. It is up to the denizens of Re-Aligned to chose their alignment. ( How this works )( Firstforged Departure )( Altered History )( Sign-ups )~
Greetings, R/A. Some months ago we ran a little plot we called 'The Glyphless', in which characters were apped, played, promptly went crazy and died/disappeared in one way or another. We promised that players would be able to bring these poor souls back at some point, and that point is coming up very, very soon - April, no less.
We call this plot 'The Return', and it involves more than just the Glyphless. However, we have a few things that we're doing to prepare for it.
First off, all players who are interested in reapping their then-Glyphless as a full character need to prepare full applications; we'll allow you to lift from your Glyphless app, though obviously you won't need to include your Glyphless powers. Bear in mind that your characters are being pulled /from/ being Glyphless, however - we'd like you to note in the history what happened during that event, as well as how it affects their personality if at all.
We'll also accept new applications for the Lost - characters who were part of the original group of Refugees that were in this world, and who mysteriously disappeared. These characters will retain vague memories of their past life in the Haven. For this, players fill out a standard app, but will be given specific factoids regarding what their characters remember for their previous time. We'll need your help for this: in the Final Notes, give us some things to go off of ("hey, my character is kinda bookish, they'd probably have done this this and this..."), and we'll write something up for you in return.
Note that apping one of the Lost guarantees you CR with the Firstforged they're aligned to. When you're approved, your Firstforged player will approach you to discuss specifics. Bear in mind that all other memories of the Haven they have will be vague at best. Their memories have been damaged by their time away, to the point where only our given tidbits and their discussions with the Firstforged will be specific. Everything else won’t be more than hazy fog.
In order for us to have the necessary time to process them, we will be accepting Glyphless and Lost apps from April 1st to April 15th, in addition to the regular app period of April 15th to 29th. The next month, May, will have the standard app period.
Before The Return, we'll be running a Mini-Event based on the Lost, so stay tuned for that as well...
It's March 10th! That means we've hit the start date of the Species Swap Event. If you've posted your character's new species to the Event Info post here and received mod approval, you may now switch your character into their new form at any time! As a reminder, the event runs from March 10th to 24th. If you haven't posted your species there yet, there's still time! We will be checking the post and approving species throughout the event. Further information is available in the OOC info post linked above. --- Additionally, March's Activity Check is still running! Don't forget to post your character's Activity links and summary if you haven't done so yet.
Run Dates: March 10th through 24thHow it works: The Cause:The Lambda serves not only as a portal, but as an extension of chaos into the realm of Re/Aligned. It sustains itself through the will of a multidimensional being, and contains a great amount of matter and energy because of this. Always, the force behind it is seeking to cause more chaos. Having realized that merely sending monsters after you time and time again has proven ineffective, this time its trying something new. You can't help build Cybertron and ally with its enemies if you aren't yourself, after all. The Beginning:The Lambda will begin exerting its nefarious influence over the residents of Re/Alignment starting at midnight EST on March 10th. You are welcome to have your character swap immediately at this time, or you can wait until a time of your choosing--all the way up to the event end on the 24th if you wish. The change will happen suddenly--one moment, your character may be going about their daily business and the next find themselves in a completely different body. This can be painful or not, but at the least it will be disorienting for approximately fifteen minutes, and characters may feel as if they were struck by lightning or smell the lingering scents of fire and ozone. The Impact:Once changed, your character may or may not find themselves appropriately clothed/armored. The Lambda contains enough mass to provide garments and accessories for its creations, but it is not always completely accurate about when and where these are applied. Cognizance, as well, has been doled out sporadically. Your character might be fully themselves within an alien body, finding no instincts and completely at odd with their new form or, conversely, they may find themselves lost to it completely, retaining only the bare essentials of their old personality. The amount of character left in your character is completely up to you to decide. The only constant, in fact, is the link devices you were gifted upon your awakening. For whatever reason, your character will find their communicator sized to their new form and able to be used by it (or potentially on a collar, where applicable.) The Resolution:As the Firstforged will become aware of this intrusion of the Lambda into their safe haven, they will be working to disrupt the energy it is emitting and return their Refugees back to the way they were. They may call for volunteers during the Event, so if you are wishing your character to change back early then all they need do is get in contact with their respective Firstforged. Otherwise, all characters will witness a particularly bright 'firework' exploding in the air above central Haven on the night of the 24th, and will find themselves back in their correct bodies by the 25th. Rules/Restrictions:IE-the fun part.
- First off, if you are participating in this event you must fill out the text box below and post it to this entry for every character that is participating. You don't have to make a separate comment for each character, but we do need to know who is involved.
- Your characters may not participate in the event until a mod has approved your sign-up comment. Ideally, make sure your sign-up is posted at least a day before you intend to swap so we have time to get to it (which means if you want to start playing on the 10th, get your sign-up in by the 9th.)
- As this is a Species Swap, the creature that your character is turning into must be actual species (IE your character can't turn into a rock, but they can turn into a rock-biter). If this is not a common species (such as a dog) then it might be helpful to put a link to information about this species in your sign-up, or to explain its attributes a little.
- Your character's new form must be no bigger than 50ft in any one direction. They should also adhere to the power requirements in our FAQ. Generally, if you're not apping a sentient planet or a Reaper, you're probably okay.
- As always, if your character becomes capable of serious trauma of any sort (mental or physical), please get permission from other players to use those abilities on their characters.
- The event ends on March 24th. This means that there may not be any additional event threads starting at midnight EST on March 25th. You may continue back-tagging existing event threads for as long as you like, however.
Hello again, Re/Alignment! It's time to wrap up the Badlands plot. First off, some apologies are in order for being a little off-schedule. Instead of ending on Friday, February 8th as per the original timeline, the plot will be officially ending on Monday, February 11th. No monsters will be present in the Haven past that point. (So no need to worry about centipedes crashing your Valentines' Day-related shenanigans!) As usual, you're welcome to backtag any plot relevant threads or posts until they've come to an end. Some overdue NPC centipede tags will also be coming up shortly; if you wanted to play against a monsterpede and don't already have a log set up, feel free to post an opening scene to the logs comm and PM a link to re_alignednpcs. --- ( So how is this all going down? )--- That should cover everything – but if you've got any questions, drop them here and they'll be answered asap!
Hello hello, Re/Alignment! It's the 19th, and that means we're starting up part two of The Badlands plot: monsters! Monsters for all! For the next two weeks, January 19th to February 1st, creatures from the local Badlands will be infiltrating the Haven. They're mad and they're hungry, you see, and that nearby encampment of walking energy tanks is a tempting buffet. Organics might not be suitable sustenance for them, but they'll be equally happy to crush you meat-based organisms. Read below the cut for extra details on your new neighbours! -- ( MONSTER INFO )-- If you'd like to have a mod NPC a creature for your character to fight against, you can sign up by replying here. If you'd like to have your character make a post about having encountered or vanquished one without playing it out, there's no need to register – go ahead and post! (If you signed up on the last OOC plot post, you haven't been forgotten! You can proceed with a post if you wish, but we'll do our best to contact everyone before the weekend is out to see if you'd like us to NPC a monster for you.) As a reminder, the source of these creatures won't be immediately obvious. One of the Firstforged will offer IC insight and a chance to do something about it around the end of the month. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them here. Otherwise: go forth and have fun!
