New Helpstaff and Upcoming Event!
Announcements time!
To begin with, we have added an additional help-staff member to R/A: Kat(Bulkhead-mun.) She is currently in charge of keeping our Calendar updated (go look at it--it is beautiful again!) and making sure that we mods aren't falling behind on any important tasks (like canon updates and item drops). If there is something you have been waiting on from the mods, feel free to contact her to get the ball rolling!
The rest of the staff's duties can be seen on the updated Staff page. Most of it has not changed, although we have added Jami to apps to speed up the process and Dirge to play Nexus Prime.

ENERGON FLAVORS PLOT
IE--everybody gets to be a Lantern. Sort of.
While doing an experiment-y thing one day before leaving to study the Lambda, Nexus has inadvertently caused an explosion. As this is nothing out of the ordinary, he does not bring it up...and those in the Nexian quadrant might just believe it to be another asteroid impacting on the surface. Beyond creating a new crater, however, this explosion has a much more insidious effect: it has slowly been tainting various strains of energon around the Haven.
As characters are out exploring (or even visiting well-known and familiar territory), they will begin to notice these veins of energon erupting as sharp crystals from the ground. Of course, this energon is different from the processed, 'liquid' energon available at any of the Firstforged's temples. This is raw energon, and in a relatively stable crystal form.
It is also beautiful, and it comes in a variety of colors.
Each vein of energon will be found by your characters in locations which will be disclosed after sign-ups~ Everyone will begin finding them at the start of this event.
When/how will this event run?
This event will run for one to two weeks following Activity Check: IE From the 16th of March through Appx the 30th of March.
Beginning on the 16th you may have your characters find the flavor of energon that they were assigned! (See below for info on how to sign up.) After they have been 'exposed' to that color (and yes, organics, this does include you) then they will begin exhibiting the symptom related to that color that you have chosen. They will continue to be afflicted by this symptom--and will not be afflicted by any other symptom--until they have located the opposite flavor of energon as listed below.
Once exposed to that opposite flavor of energon, they will return to normal.
Because of that, we do ask that you keep your unique discovery location (which will be provided to you by a mod) a secret until the event. This is your character's chance to completely extort other Refugees if they would do so, or to be helpful if they prefer! After the event has started, you are of course free to reveal the location of the energon flavor your character found through in-character interactions.
How to Sign up
To sign up for the event, all you need do is leave a reply to this post stating which three colors of energon you would NOT like your character to encounter. To introduce an unexpected element, the mods will run the remaining colors through a randomizer and let you know via PM WHICH energon your character will find and also where they will find it.
From there, you can chose ONE status effect from the list below for that color, which will begin impacting your character at the start of the event.
Energon Flavors:
Brown, Pink, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, White, and Black, each which cause a different status ailment in ANYONE (human, alien, robot). After exposure to a color, the only way to reverse the effect is to be exposed to the opposite color. All other colors will be harmful to contact and won’t cause any additional ailments.
The colors and options are as follows:
Pink: Pink energon is the energon of friendship/affection (to your discretion). Pink energon causes:
1. The character believes they are close/have a crush on/are best friends with the next person they see.
2. The character feels oppositely towards everyone they come in contact with.
3. The character feels beneficially towards everyone they come in contact with.
Its opposite is: Orange/Greed
Orange: Orange energon is the energon of greed. Exposure to this energon causes:
1. The character will attempt to gather ALL types of energon except for pink, regardless of the pain the others cause.
2. The character wants anything so long as its possessed by someone else.
3. The character is constantly hungry, and will not be picky about what they eat.
Its opposite is: Pink/Friendship
Green: Green “synthetic” energon is the energon of confidence/arrogance.
1. The character sees even casual conversation as a challenge to their skills, and will constantly take action to prove themselves.
2. The character does not see any situation as potentially hazardous, and will take the most dangerous path in doing everyday tasks (IE the fastest way to the library is leaping from your roof into the open window on the other side.)
3. The character finds themselves super-energized, but also has a constant need of refueling...and only more green energon will satisfy them.
Its opposite is: Yellow/fear
Yellow: Yellow energon is the energon of fear. When exposed to yellow...
1. The character finds everything startling/terrifying, even those harmless fuzzy bunny slippers.
2. The character is certain that he/she is being followed/tracked by the thing he/she most fears, and will take every precaution to not encounter it.
3. The character believes that THEY are terrifying, and will avoid contact with others and especially with mirrors. Those who do find them will also feel unsettled, although their appearance has not changed.
Its opposite is: Green
Red: Red energon causes super-speed. Being exposed to red energon means:
1. The character operates at a faster pace than everyone else. The rest of the world seems to be moving in slow motion, which means that the character will have some difficulty understanding others or being understood.
2. The character finds themselves in variable pockets of time: sometimes they move forward at another pace, sometimes time stops around them completely, other times THEY stop completely while the world moves on around them.
3. The character remains at normal speed, but their molecules vibrate faster, allowing them to pass through all matter except the ground. Unfortunately, they can’t actually ‘solidify’ in order to touch anything even if they want to.
Its opposite is: Brown
Brown: Brown energon is extremely toxic. When exposed to brown energon,
1. The character becomes incredibly sick, lacking energy and unable to focus on complex tasks.
2. The character becomes a carrier for illness, experiencing no symptoms themselves but causing small problems in everyone they come across--uncontrollable sneezing, headaches, rust, etc.
Its opposite is: Red
White: White energon is the energon of life/light. Exposure to white energon causes:
1. Invisibility. Light completely passes through the character, rendering them unseeable by normal means. They can still interact with objects and people, however, and they will still make noise.
2. The character is constantly being healed, effectively locking them into a stasis at the moment of exposure. Nothing can hurt them, but they also find themselves unable to eat, grow, sleep, or transform.
Its opposite is: Black
Black: Black energon is the energon of darkness/death. When exposed to Black energon...
1. The character becomes a veritable zombie, thirsting after the blood/energon of the innocent. Nothing else will satisfy them.
2. The character’s behavior switches to the opposite of what they were before. If kind, they are now cruel. If upbeat, they are now depressed. Their beliefs remain the same, however.
3. The character is now certain of Unicron’s impending arrival, and will attempt to coerce/drag as many people towards the badlands as they can.
Its opposite is: White
