Character Introductions and Plotting post!

Gooood evening everybody!

The official opening start time for Re/Alignment will be June 21st, 8pm Eastern/5pm Pacific. (For those across the globe, feel free to poke us in here for clarification on this.)

Since this is less than two days away, we're putting up this post for everyone to introduce their characters in, and maybe start plotting who will be waking up next to or on top of whom! Will there be fights breaking out over the choicest pieces of junk on the junk pile? Medics trying to remove the mysterious glyphs? Problems understanding Japanese/Cybertronian before communicators are given out?

Jump in and find out~

Well, guess I'll be the first one to hop in here?

I'm Toast, and I'll be playing Ratchet from TFP. I'm an absent-minded dental student and he's a cranky medic... who is only going to get crankier when he wakes up in RA.

And probably even more when he realizes that the only other allies he's got are an exquisitely fragile human child, and Wheeljack (who can only be described in phrases which require ****s). So there's that c:

The whole deal of waking up (especially after dying) on the Junk Pile with all these other beings is going to be incredibly overwhelming for Annie. She has never seen a robot before in her life, let alone anything so huge that moves and talks. There will be screaming, likely attempts to run, and probably some falling and sliding down the side of the Junk Pile a ways.

I would love to have Annie either wake up on top of someone/somebot or trip on someone/somebot. Any characters that are nice to her and patient will be able to calm her down, and she'll then likely cling until the big bots on campus sort the mess out.

Fighting scenarios nearby...yeah, more screaming and running (maybe even away from the Junk Pile).

Because I apparently hate Drift, he's coming in with Red Rust. He's not contagious, but, other robots can be free not to know that, since he sure thinks he's contagious.

Having been to Earth, though, ESPECIALLY JAPAN *cherry blossoms* (don't make me get that last page of his miniseries out), he likely can understand human speech.

Maybe you can have some fun. I need to go make HORRIBLE EYEBLEEDING ICONS for him for this.

This is Jayde, bringing in Noisy Boy from Real Steel.

This video is a fairly good summary of him, but he's basically a washed-up boxing robot built in Japan, that looks like and emulates samurai. He cannot speak in a proper voice himself (though he gears and hydraulics do whine) but he will be able to understand English upon first arrival. However he does have Japanese kanji across his chest (that translates to his name, more or less) and LED screens in his forearms that flash different kanji every few seconds (all of which are listed here) for any Japanese speakers!

For the curious, his combo-listing console is going to be wedged in between some sections of back plating, and the headset that controls him will be around his neck.

Mostly he will just be trying to figure things out, but if a fight breaks out he will very carefully avoid it; you are all using illegal fight moves and he doesn't want another decappuccino.

The moment Four wakes up... he's going to hide from any machine and watch them from afar. He's not going to be inclined to "talk" (Did I mention that Four is a mute?) or interact with them for a little while, especially since his twin isn't around. Despite that, this little guy is going to be fascinated by EVERYTHING.

Where is he? Why are the stars so different? Who are these giants? Why are humans alive? Where is his family? Why do these giants have faces?

While robots will be met with distrust, humans will be met with excitement and enthusiasm, since they're an extinct species after all, and Four has only ever really read about them...

Oh and Four is able to understand most European languages.

Hey there! This is Pharma, the evil jet medic from IDW. His hobbies include, harvesting organs, drawing on stuff with a laser scalpel, and revealing his plans in the most dramatic way possible.

He will be coming in WITHOUT HANDS. :{ Because Drift is a mean butt face. He really wants those back.

He will also be coming in with THE DEADLY RED RUST VIRUS. It's not contagious but he sure thinks it is. He also sort of created it. Yep.

He doesn't understand Earth people speak since he's never been there.

Yo! I'm Alba, and I'm playing a robot that is not Cybertronian. This is Gunmax, and he's a robot cop from Japan. He knows Japanese and English since he was MADE IN AMERICA, HELL YEAH.

Chances are, if a fight breaks out, he'll probably try to make some peace -- albeit a bit roughly. Unfortunately, he only has so many giant robot handcuffs. Otherwise, he's going to be confised and assume the Cybertronians are also robots from Earth because he hasn't really been exposed to sentient transforming robots outside of his planet an' all.
sparkless: (holding up trains)

[personal profile] sparkless 2012-06-20 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
Oh look, a Starscream. This one is magenta flavored. Yay!

He's also kind of used to waking up dead in junk piles. He's going to be very unhappy about losing his all-spark fragment. And if you happen to be Prowl, you are in BIG trouble.

He can understand Earth people talkings.

[personal profile] automobile_enthusiast 2012-06-20 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
Do I even need to point out that KO's not going to be a happy camper when he wakes up? After all, someone's tattooed him without his consent. How gauche!

Never mind that he's, you know, all limpy and not actually able to use his alt-mode very well because of the beating he took in "Tunnel Vision". So that's going to be a lot of fun for him.

Anyone wanna deal with a panicky, aggressive, but probably not all that dangerous Decepticon doctor who's priorities are a little screwed up? (You KNOW he's going to be very preoccupied with trying to scratch off that Mark of Primus...)

Oh, and for all you squishies/Earth-originating critters, he speaks English~.

[personal profile] megamind 2012-06-20 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
Prowl is going to be Remarkably Zen about all this, and likewly just SIT SOMEWHERE to contemplate considering he knows he just killed himself to save a planet and was a-okay with that. He's likely to take on zen voice of calm...

...which will be complete opposite to Mister "I just got dumped in the rain"; Megamind is coming straight out of being dumped, is going to be cranky and unhappy and the first time he takes a decoupage backfire to the face he's going to be spitting tacs and hissing like a wet cat. He's likely to be a bit of a nihilist of "oh god fine this is punishment from fate I have no destiny I suck" and being miserable about it.

Starscream is kind of an unpredictable evil fail spazz of a robot, who is king of rash decisions.

A) If your character is: weak, small, or looking the other way:

It is very likely Starscream will try to get the drop on your bloke for hysterics interrogation and cruel funsies.

B) If your character is: big, standing around some robot snacks, or looks like they're a tough cookie:

Hi, Starscream would like to be their best friend forever (until they meet any of the criteria in A) )

PS: Howdy, I'm MmeJack and I play one of the few Transforming robots who actually can't transform (right now). I've got an exam on the 21st so I won't be able to tag till later that afternoon, but I'd love for us to do an awkward tangle if any of you were game.

[Edit:] ... I think the main TFP robot cast is multilingual when it comes to major Earth languages(???), but Starscream never learned Latin, isn't very good at slang, and ... isn't that hot when it comes to alien culture in general... or fauna for that matter. (And when we say fauna, we're looking at you, humans.)

Hiii, Jami with Starscream here.

He's going to be very annoyed upon waking up in a junk pile. He keeps ending up in annoying places! But at least he's semi-used to having a strange tattoo.

He understands most common Earth languages so that won't be a problem there.
rotafortunae: (forget how to feel)

LUXORD

[personal profile] rotafortunae 2012-06-20 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
Hi! I'm Teal, and this is Luxord. Luxord is a Nobody, which means he's a creature without a heart fuck you, retcons, an empty shell consisting only of his body and a soul. in Transformers terms, this'd mean he has no Spark, and is essentially a drone, or something.

A drone with a hell of a lot of personality and crazy powers over Time and chance, anyway.

Luxord LOVES gambling and gaming of all types. I, the player, am not so good at most forms myself (unless it's like, super smash bros), but Luxord is a master of gambling... and BOY does he love to gamble. Half his dialogue is gambling puns. He himself tends to think of life as more of a game to be won than anything else, and tends to be a bit capricious because of it. He's also curious, and can be a manipulative bastard, but he isn't as much of a long-term schemer as the other org members (often he seems kind of behind on their plots)

He's come in with just two of his powers at present: the ability to Stop time for a single creature by trapping them inside his cards, and his deck of cards, Fair Game, which he can telekinetically control (and create a hell of a card fort with).

Uhh, finally, Luxord can (canonically!) read Tarot cards... and so can I! So he may offer to give your characters readings, and I will do actual readings for your characters :3 yay!

*edit* I have no idea how Luxord's language is going to be :V Kingdom Hearts is weird. I imagine he'll have some issues with it. As for funky symbols and waking up with no idea how he got here, well, it ain't the first time.

So, this is V aka Christopher Arclight from YGO Zexal. He's calm, logical, ruthless, arrogant, and has a few daddy issues. Seeing as his daddy is now an 8-year-old and psychotic, this is pretty understandable. Also, he's a scientist of various schools of physics and also alternate dimensions. And also his trump card is a Dyson Sphere. It's pretty much amazing.

He actually won't be massively freaked out by all the robots everywhere! Mostly sentient, somewhat transforming robots are actually a thing that exists in Zexal, and they're everywhere (although they do vary in sentience, from just enough to duel/guard rooms up to a legitimately appable character, and they're not nearly as big as most Cybertronians). He'll be a lot more (inwardly) freaked out about being on another planet and not with his family, but that'll pass pretty quickly too.

He's generally the voice of reason in his family and he'll continue to be a voice of reason here!

Also, he has a few powers--teleporting with wormholes, this awesome tattoo on his face that doesn't do much here (yet), limited telekinesis, aaaand mind control! Which has a permissions post, btw.

ALSO he speaks Japanese and English, so he should be able to communicate with everyone who speaks an Earth language?

c: So, hi (again). Chibi here and I'll bring in Elita One and Jetfire!

Elita will just be annoyed and frustrated - we all know transwarp isn't the safest, but being yanked from inside a ship to what appears to be Cybertron? And the wrong Cybertron? Yeah, that shouldn't be possible!

If anyone wants to have her on/nearby them when waking up, I'm game for that, or running into her before everything gets straighted out. I'm going to say she does understand most human languages, since understand it would be part of a successful disguise which Prime had decreed everybody should have going down to Earth when she visited with the Graviton.

She'll also probably be aksing around for Grimlock, Ultra Magnus or Springer... and maybe the other ones too. >_>

Jetfire... will probably be annoyingly collected about this whole thing, but he's been at another place before, and at least this is... a Cybertron. And he doesn't let his emotions get the best of him. AND since he managed to get Starscream to give him an English language file in Holloway's Keep, he does know English. He's been trying to make Starscream give him a file with the rest of Earth's languages. :D Unsuccessfully so far...
mccrane: (KNEES--crouch with Seia)

[personal profile] mccrane 2012-06-20 04:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Saeru here!

I'm bringing in McCrane, a sentient robot from earth and a member of the Japanese BRAVE POLICE force.

If you're small and human-shaped, he'll want to know you and protect you from threats, likely in a cool and efficient manner. It is his job. Small, human shapes that are capable of protecting themselves, however, will be somewhat new and surprising to him, but...hey, his best friend was a Colonel, and she was pretty kickass.

If you're large and robot-shaped, then obviously you are the threat. He will be watching you.
Of course, if you're large and robot-shaped and friendly, you will boggle him. Alien robots that talk and aren't trying to do something terrible aren't so common where he's from.
He probably won't shoot you.
Probably.
Very probably.

Just keep your weapons where he can see them, at least until he's gotten used to you.

McCrane speaks Japanese primarily, knowing a small bit of English where the two languages intersect (or where he picked it up from hearing Gunmax, but that is less than reliable.)

I am game for just about any shenanigans. Want to wake up in a pile with him? Be shot? Have delightful language barriers?

Its all good.

[personal profile] wheeljackofalltrades 2012-06-20 05:04 pm (UTC)(link)
RC here!

And I'm bringing the ever-so-lovely Wheeljack in. Much like his past counterparts, explosions follow him everywhere, except...well maybe he intends them this time! He's got quite an attitude problem too, so the idea of just being picked up and transported to some weirdo Cybertron probably won't sit well for him...until he wants to explore that is.

Hello everyone, I'm Lylith and I play this motormouth bot, Blurr. He's the faster cybertronian in his universe and unless you trap him somewhere (please don't, he's somewhat claustrophobic) he's really hard to catch.

Blurr is a bit bad at social interactions but he tries his best and he's generally friendly. Because he comes after this death in canon he will be a) surprised that he's not a companion cube and b) wary of reindeer decepticons.

I look forward to play with you all :P
winged_knight: (Default)

I'm a HELPER

[personal profile] winged_knight 2012-06-20 05:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Wing is going to come in having just recovered from a near death experience, his last memories of battle and taking a death blow...

He will be understandably shaken and confused.
He likely won't recognize Cybertron for what it is, not right away at least.
He's never seen humans and won't know human languages.

None the less! He will respond to any sounds of distress or requests for assistance. He is generally quite friendly and not aggressive unless given a good reason to be.

He also likes swords. And technically he doesn't get out much so all this new stimuli is going to be very curious and exciting. And potentially overwhelming, depending on what happens.

I do eventually want him to come across Drift before Red Rust shenanigans proceed too far because HELLO drama and I can't resist it. But that doesn't mean he has to start there.

Any need someone to come to their aid? Or anyone too stubborn to ask for that needs it forced on them proactively given for their own good?

DAMN IT TARRLOK, YOU--SHIT, ROBOTS, ATTACK!

[personal profile] not_halfbaked 2012-06-20 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Korra arrives in a very bad way.

...Bad me, but I forgot to mention in my app that she'll be hurt from her last fight! It didn't seem serious, but she's like all scratched up on her arms and face, some of her clothes are ripped.

Anyway, last thing Korra remembers is fighting Tarrlok, then he bent her blood, forcing her into submission, then stuffed her into the back of a Satomobile and threatened to take her somewhere no one would ever find her--so, essentially, Korra was just kidnapped.

And now she's woken up in a very strange place and is pretty much all "WTF TARRLOK WHERE THE HELL DID YOU TAKE ME AUGH." Given that she has elemental powers she will literally breathe fire and start small earthquakes in her rage, and if there's any water nearby, that will go crazy too, like giant waves or rapid shifts between jagged ice and back again to liquid. So Korra may look kinda totally terrifying to random passerby, especially those her size. She might only unnerve larger Cybertronians/robots, if only because the fire she's generating is getting rather big and her veritable earthquakes are getting rather intense.

If no one stumbles upon her elemental outburst, Korra will eventually calm down and stalk around, trying to figure out where the hell she is and how to get back to Republic City.

Also, Korra will utterly freak out at the first robot she sees and will probably attack first, ask questions later.

In her world, the first thing Korra saw that was close to being a robot was something that was trying to hurt her, hence her immediate aggression at the sight of something similar. But if she sees a downed robot making pained noises, she'll probably hesitate and think its pilot is trapped and hurt--because the only robots Korra has dealt with were piloted by humans. Korra has no idea about AI or robots with minds of their own.

Korra will be super shocked when she finds that none of the robots have human pilots in them, yet they can still talk, and they have more human features. She'll probably then think they're like spirits, something that is a very real possibility her world. This will probably excite her, since as the Avatar, Korra is supposed to be able to commune with spirits, but she has never done so before. Korra will then just think she's in the spirit world now and treat creatures she's never known before as sprits, unless informed otherwise.

And more info on those robots here: http://avatar.wikia.com/wiki/Mecha_tank

OKAY SO.

Lady here, and I now have Swindle from TFA in! The whole "waking up and finding himself in a different dimension" thing won't bother him in the slightest. Losing most of his inventory will though, and he's going to be mildly annoyed about that. Swindle's a friendly guy, he'll be cheerful and welcoming to everyone :D Because he's very friendship if he thinks that there's something he can get out of the relationship.

For reasons I won't be introducing him right away, I'd like to get Four settled first before dealing with this guy.

Corny here with the soon to be very irritated Shockwave & Driller. Or well, an irritated Shockwave and an angry Driller. It wouldn't be logical for Shockwave to show emotion so just some slight irritation because this messes with his plans. Driller on the other hand will be raging. Flaily tentacle worm!

Shocks knows english, not that he'll be interested in talking much. He just wants to find a way back to Earth so he can kill Autobots and that one boy. The mission must be completed.

When he realizes there's Autobots around trouble will probably arise, unless someone stops him.

Yo, hope I'm not late to this party. I'm Dent with the always serious Dinobot.

He'll be pretty confused finding himself in another dimension, both in terms of 'where am I' and 'after I just died, what now' senses. He'll also be surprised by what are essentially his ancestors wandering around, so he'll try not to allude to any future with the Maximals and Predacons at first.

Also being the lone samurai type Dinobot will like to keep to himself except for checking around and getting intel on what's going on with the others.

Hi! Karan here. Late, due to things like surprise babysitting and my awesome sleep schedule.

My one and only character, for now, is Slipstream from Transformers Animated. She's pulled from the end of "Endgame" on the timeline, and I have to talk to Dirge, but she likely remembers about where Starscream's body was after the AllSpark fragment was summoned by Prowl (Who I understand we also have, Murder?)

She's a bot with a volatile temper and coming in with Nexic polarity, not that she knows what that really involves. Unknown to her, the polarity's been decided due to her rather fluid allegiance and ability to quickly change mood or strategy, which sorta goes with Nexus Prime's whole adaptability and changing gig. (She won't be jazzed about the whole digs in a meteor target zone, so we'll see what happens with that, given her allegiances usually lie with whoever seems to be winning at any given moment.)

If anyone has questions on how I choose to play a character with a canonically unrevealed personality trait, feel free to ask me. Slipstream, however, will likely respond "Don't ask!" or some other frustrating, snarky, barely helpful thing.

If anyone happens upon some artifacts from 'futuristic' Detroit, like Sound Wave action figures or automatons or whatnot, in the junk pile, she might possibly be interested.
