The Badlands part 2
Hello hello, Re/Alignment!
It's the 19th, and that means we're starting up part two of The Badlands plot: monsters! Monsters for all!
For the next two weeks, January 19th to February 1st, creatures from the local Badlands will be infiltrating the Haven. They're mad and they're hungry, you see, and that nearby encampment of walking energy tanks is a tempting buffet. Organics might not be suitable sustenance for them, but they'll be equally happy to crush you meat-based organisms. Read below the cut for extra details on your new neighbours!

What do they look like?
It varies slightly from creature to creature, but the general body plan is that of a robotic centipede, long and multi-limbed, with a few extra graspers on the front to help them dig or rip at armor as needed. When it comes to heads, some of them have concentric circles of teeth for rasping holes into their victims, some of them have a pair of crushing ant-like jaws, and some of them have a proboscis to puncture armor and draw out energon with.
Are they sentient?
Barely. They feel hunger and rage, but not much else. Characters certainly won't be able to make much in the way of conversation with them.
How big are they?
Their size ranges anywhere from 10 feet long to 40 feet long for the largest of them. Smaller ones may sometimes travel in groups of two to three.
Where are they found?
They'll be found throughout the Haven, as well as in the wastelands outside of it. These things can burrow rather well, so in addition to lurking the grounds outside the temples, they can make their way inside by digging into the lower access levels. Feel free to have your character find a suspicious hole or two around the Haven. They're incapable of flight, however – so fliers will have a much easier time avoiding them than others.
What kind of armaments have they got?
Minimal armaments, thankfully. The majority don't have long-range weapons of any form – though a few are capable of lobbing a sticky ball of acid your way. The rest rely on razor-tipped limbs and powerful jaws to do damage. They're ambush predators that wait for a lone mech or organic to pass by before pouncing them, and are more than strong enough to crush most organics or put a good dent or two in a larger mech if they manage to wrap around them.
How tough are they? Can I kill one?
The creatures are well-armored on top but nowhere near invincible, so killing one is definitely on the table if you character is strong enough. No matter how many are killed, however, their numbers will continue to be replenished by the Badlands.

As a reminder, the source of these creatures won't be immediately obvious. One of the Firstforged will offer IC insight and a chance to do something about it around the end of the month.
