As of right now... or rather, in a week or so, whenever the first seeds are planted, the (non-dextro) population will have a steady, quick-growing supply of (American) football-shaped and head-sized lividly hot pink fruit.
You're free to come up with your own tastes, they're alien fruit, so I don't see why people wouldn't experience the taste(s) differently.

... though I doubt the plant could survive too well on bare metal ground, so as long as it's not Alpha Trion's quadrant with any earthy ground, it should be fine~
