SIDEQUEST: a task of gods and demons
All right, so! Per Ashitaka's most recent post, he is aiming to trek out into the Badlands so he can try to contain his curse. Prima has sent him out on this quest, and has given him a device that will collect dark energy out there. So you wanna join Ashitaka on this journey, comment on his post.
Now, what this journey will entail will be the following:
- The device given to Ashitaka is from one of Prima's acolytes; it looks like a diamond fused with a vial, and it is currently strapped to Ashitaka's back. Upon going out to the Badlands, it begin to darken.
- Monsters/Glyphless similar to the Second Wave will be around. Those going with Ashitaka, contact me and we'll work out what to expect.
- They will only be heading out to the Outskirts. They do not need to go much further.
- This journey will occupy their time for a few days. The group will be back in time for the Pages event.
- The Link weakens the further they're from the Haven. So not only will they be unable to contact the Link, but this means a language barrier issue. Ashitaka can only speak Japanese, etc.
- The closer the group gets to the Badlands, the more there is the uncomfortable sensation of "emptiness" and "void". This also means they'll have a chance to hear the Calling. The group will begin to hear some whispering, words they can't quite make out, etc. Sooo, once Ashitaka is done with what he's doing? Good idea to bail.
I imagine we'll do one or two logs at the most in regards to the journey. If you want your character to back out, lemme know, and I can have Ashitaka come up with a reason for them to not come.

Monday sounds good. I probably won't be posting a log for a bit anyway.

Only it was more something the Sword itself saw fit to do after McCrane got all touchy with it during a misunderstanding they were having.
It's not exactly translation, because the sword doesn't have language skills, it's more like passing concepts, maybe some imagery, through the sword. And you both have to be touching it.
So it's something, for lack of anything else, but it's clunky, slow, prone to inaccuracy and not suited to battle.
Also... I assume short range comm traffic is still fine? EG, among our party. Since Wing will likely take to the sky to scout/travel, he'll have to keep in touch via radio.
