Haven's Hub Construction/Job Ops: Announcement and Plotting

Just a few (lolz) notes since I'm sort of project managing this thing because I am a crazy person who loves worldbuilding. I know the existence of these places is not very transparent to people so I want to let you all know you have additional places to play/settings to use.

If you don't know what I'm talking about when I say Haven's Hub (formerly the rec center) GO HERE. GOD PLEASE EVERYONE READ IT, IT TOOK ME A LONG TIME TO DO THE WRITE UP OKAY? /sob

ANNOUNCEMENT: Currently Complete Construction!

For new folks, Haven's Hub is the biggest bit of construction we're doing in Haven and it's been in progress for many, many months. The bar has been complete for some time now, (but still needs a name).

The Habitation Wing and the Atrium were recently completed!

There will be an IC announcement from one of my compatriots regarding this soon, things just keep coming up. (If you've been around the bar or talked to Wing your character could probably know about it though. The upcoming dance will also make the Atrium very obviously complete.)

If anyone wants to adopt gardening in the Atrium you are welcome to, just let me know here! And can I beg for a Sakura tree in there pretty please? :3

PLOTTING: In Progress Construction:

The next phase is the human scale eatery and food storehouse (aka The Pantry). The eatery really needs no elaboration (see the link above) but The Pantry is something that I think could be more complex and BOTH sections have actual job opportunities if you're looking for stuff for your characters to do.

Here's what I'm thinking on the Pantry:
A secure building separate but connected the eatery, The Pantry will be a storehouse for any food or other fuel/sustenance for the residents of Haven who cannot subsist on energon. Mainly food for organics, anything that individuals scavenge from the Junk Pile that they do not need for themselves could end up here. The interior would consist of shelving where the food stuffs are sorted and categorized, (tall enough for average mechs I think, with ladders/etc for humans?). Alcohol not currently used in the bar is stored here as well.

It should be secure and access would limited to prevent theft. Some trusted individuals would have rationed access to make hand outs to those in need. If hand-outs are taken, later contributions would be expected. Donations and trades would also be welcome and barter encouraged. There'll likely be a secure "drop off" where individuals can leave donations at any time. I think the building's interior could easily be modified to have a storefront or front counter (facing into the Atrium perhaps) if someone is willing to man it and handle the trading of food stuffs. To start such exchanges would be by appointment.

So there you have my ideas, feel free to offer suggestions. Saber-mun has stepped up to manage the Pantry OOC and IC , and if no one wants to adopt the eatery then she will handle that as well. But if there's someone out there who wants it, particularly someone with an interest in cooking, please speak up!

For now it's assumed that at least Saber, Wing and Soundwave have access to the Pantry. Saber will coordinate with others who want to be volunteer workers.

As jobs go there's also a oppurtunites for bartenders or bar bouncers (we have two of each). If you are interested let me know.

Also...does any science/engineer types want to build a little droid for the bar to help serve? Kind of like the one from MTMTE? I figure this could bridge the size gap (it's like hard for mechs to pour from whiskey bottles and humans can't exactly serve energon efficiently.) Could be fun...?

Let me know through PM, plurk, AIM.. however you want, if you are interested in the volunteer pantry positions! I'll eventually have an IC log put up about the position and how Saber plans on handling it (need to think about it), but yeah!

I'd love to collab with you. Because even though I/Saber am running it, I still want you to give the final okay on how we decide how the pantry positions are decided and maintained. I would //really// appreciate that.

AIM is the best, I think. If we could do a real time chat for 30 or so minutes, that'd be great. I'm also on plurk, but I'm on just as much on plurk as I am on chat, so I think chat would be more handy. My AIM is pranaburst.

Let me know how you want to collaborate?

Oh so many cool things. Great job bb. Ko will point out how stupid is to storage ALL your food in one single place that can be attacked, high security or not. But don't listen to him.

You know Decepticons, they always think about the worse possible outcome. More than one storehouse seems like a smart thing. Maybe small ones in each temple? That way if people wants a snack they don't have to travel all the way to the pantry.

They can build rooms/freezers to store the food on certain places of the haven for the mech to drop the food there. One close to the junkpile might be a good idea.

And if you don't get any help, Knock Out can probably build the bar droid, he's the tech advisor of the neemesis and good with tech. One of the TF:P comic actually shows how good he is at building stuff, he created the neuron frefractor: http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Neuron_refractor So a droid can't be that hard.

Give him something to do besides play experiment with dangerous things.

Sounds good! I'll keep an eye out.
