Crashed Frigate Plotting

A derelict starship of alien origin has crash landed out in the junkpile, though it seems to have been damaged before it had gone through the Lambda. On the side of it's partially buried nose is stamped it's name: PRAEXIS. There are a few barely detectable dormant life signs inside, ones that are not quite organic or synthetic. The signatures appear to be originating from the engineering deck and drive core, but otherwise holds nothing of obvious interest.

---

So who's up for exploring a creepy derelict ship? In about a week or so, Garrus is going to try to get a team together to explore the turian frigate Praexis in hopes of finding a fairly stable food supply(via comm post and later a log). It sucks being unable to eat human food, it really does. Now while that is the primary motivator for him, there's a lot of other things that can be done for some fun CR or other devious plottings. And it can always be visited later on as a location on it'.

TIMELINE

The event will happen during the item drop (so between Dec 24-31) over the course of around a day. This is how I see things going down:
  1. DISCOVERY: It's a big, big junkyard out there. While I planned on having it's discovery be happenstance, it's much more likely someone who could fly/hover/drive would have spotted the ship first. If anyone's interested in this aspect it can totally be worked in.
  2. EXPLORATION: Upon it's discovery, Garrus is going to try to assemble a team to help explore the insides of the ship and see what they can recover (as well as investigate those life signs). Anyone willing to help can be brought along, the ship is going to have numerous supplies that will be listed later that can be picked up. The only limiting factor was that the frigate was made for turians, 6-foot tall humanoids. Someone who's over 12-15 feet tall is going to have a tough time squeezing into the ship's hallways.
  3. FIREFIGHT: Now what creepy discovery would be complete without a little action? The Engineering Deck and Drive Core are going to have about 3 dozen turian husks that will remain dormant until the doors are cut open. Unlike regular husks, these are intelligent and armed with some shielding, assault rifles and grenades. Now, a quick reminder is that these are ~*space guns*~, meant to puncture through hard suits that can do a pretty good job of weathering atmospheric re-entry. They're going to have some bite to them. The outcome of the fight can be decided with RNGs to keep it interesting (or if we figure out something preplanned that works too!).
  4. SUPPLY RECOVERY: Now that the danger's over, the ship can be explored and all the stuff can be gathered, whoo! Anyone who is part of the team will be totally open to grab stuff.

SALVAGEABLE MATERIALS
  • turian military rations (only edible for turians and quarians)
  • medicinal supplies: medi-gel, and other supplies specific to the turian species.
  • industrial supplies: omni-gel, a liquid solution of ceramics, plastics, and alloys that can be used to repair machinery.
  • element zero, a substance that emits dark energy when charged with electricity. Found in the ship's drive core and engines.
  • armory: some extra heatsinks and alternate ammo packs(these are for a specific type of weaponry and are pretty useless unless one wants to modify/research it)
  • electronics from the computers
  • * permanently damaged mass accelerator cannons (the ship was a military vessel, after all.)
  • * Reaper nanomachines within the husks. Basically a synthetic 'virus' that converts the host into a Reaper agent. They communicate using entangled particles. Harmless unless properly injected into a host body, where they begin to self-replicate.
* items with asterisks will need mod clearance before being used in possible plots.

You can count Kay in for exploring the junkpile/finding it/exploring! This is where she'd probably find her crow nestling, since she'd have to be in the junkpile for it.

I doubt she'll be able to really fight, so she won't make it past exploration. She might need someone to hightail her out of there when things get rough, even if I think we discussed Garrus getting her a pistol. She's still a newbie )8

You know your krogan bro's got your back, Garrus. Especially when a fight's involved.

I don't know much of anything about Mass Effect, so I don't know how big Turians are. Gonna guess the ship is too small for Thundercracker to fit in?

He flies regularly all over Haven - both in sort of security/scouting runs and just for the hell of it - so I could have him spot it if you still need someone to. =3

Thought so but didn't want to assume. =D

I'm open for either. Which would work better for people, you think?

Heading out the door now for a few hours, but yeah, that makes the most sense to me too. A log can always be put up after too if we want.

I'll get that post up when I get home tonight. Thanks! 8D

This looks super cool, and I'd love to be a part of it, that said, Tarn is probably a terrible idea to throw in here. I'm sure I could swing something, but +1 Tarn might be too much drama, especially give his size.

BUT! if no one ends up swiping those permadamaged canons and the element zero --> SIGN MY DUDE UP. He'll just sweep on through when everything done and be all "Oh, how presh; this stuff would look lovely on my robot lawn." And a husk corpse would look EXTRA lovely on Prima's Crystal tree.

Wouldn't you enjoy opening your window and seeing that little taste of home hanging in the tree, Garrus? It can be a holiday gift just for you. -- Love, your polarity buddy, Tarn.

XOXO

Yes, but these people light up when you plug them into an outlet. He was feeling that the tree needed a little more glitz and glam, you know? (And then Tarn strung up a bunch of husks, grabbed an extension cord, and lit up that tree real pretty like.

I dunno if he'd go for dust, but he might just start dismantling the entire ship and try to take home the interesting bits. Like the engine, and whatever is left of the bits that take care of thrust. He might go for the drive core too.

Think that would fly?

Someone should tell Tarn about that. ACTUALLY I TAKE IT BACK, NO ONE SHOULD TELL HIM ANYTHING ABOUT THAT. Maybe he'll just duct-tape a robot defibrillator to one of the husks, and stick it at the top of the tree. There, he's made glowing art.

To receiving glowing reviews, I'm sure.

And yeah, he'd probably do something like that. He needs a hobby since he's currently not murdering people right now and is Soooooo boooored.

AND THEN GARRUS COMES BACK, AND THE SHIP IS BEING TOWED AWAY BY THIS IMPRESSIVELY LARGE TANK. Hey mate, if you wanted it, you shoulda put a ring on it. :|

I know nothing about mass effect either, but Blurr is around 17 feet max, so I guess he can fit in the ship if he's in car mode or crouching. Sp he wants to help c:
