GLYPHLESS EVENT END & RE-APPS

Hello, everyone! The following is a very information-dense post, so please read it carefully.

December 7th was the last day to post to the link or the logs communities with your Glyphless characters; by now, all Glyphless have either been killed or have escaped into the Badlands. Backtagging any logs or event posts is of course welcomed and encouraged!

Everyone who participated in the event - ie, everyone who played a Glyphless character - has been awarded an automatic fifth character slot. (Anyone who already had a fifth character slot is still capped at five, not six.)

Those of you with plans to re-app your Glyphless as full characters are looking at some additional goodies. The first bit of good news is that the Return plot, originally scheduled to take place six months from now, will instead be happening four months from now in April 2013. Additionally, when apped, your Glyphless will not count towards the existing character-per-canon limits. That means that if you currently play a Transformers: IDW character, you may still app your Transformers: IDW Glyphless to a maximum of 2 characters per ongoing/"live" canon; or, if you currently play two Transformers G1 characters, you may app your Transformers G1 Glyphless to a maximum of 3 characters per concluded/"dead" canon. To exceed the current per-canon limits, the non-glyphless character must be in play first. If you re-app a Transformers: Prime Glyphless and don't already play a Transformers: Prime character, you may not subsequently app a second Transformers: Prime character. Note that the rules barring one player from apping two characters with close canon CR or expected close CR in game still apply.

Now, as to the timing of any Glyphless re-apps, there are two mutually exclusive possibilities:

1 - For those who want to re-app their Glyphless with their memories/existing CR and participate in the Return plot...

» In this exceptional case, because partial apps have been completed and the Glyphless have pre-existing CR, on request we will hold your reserve for the next four months. Please post such requests as a reply to this post. You must, however, let us know you wish to participate in the Return plot before December 22nd if you want us to hold your reserve! By requesting the reserve, you are making a commitment to participate in the Return plot in four months' time.
» If you request that we hold your reserve and subsequently fail to submit the application in April, you will lose the automatic fifth character slot awarded for participating in the Glyphless event and will have to re-earn it according to the rules currently specified in the Application FAQ.
» If you don’t request a reserve, and you nor anyone else has apped the character before April, you can still app your Glyphless with their memories/CR and participate in the Return during the month of April.

2 - For those who don't mind losing their Glyphless' memories/CR and don't want to participate in the Return plot...

» You may re-app your Glyphless as a new character immediately. They will have no memory of the events that took place during the Glyphless plot because they were not present. Note that in this case the Glyphless version's body will still be in the Haven if they were killed, or the Glyphless version will still be hiding somewhere in the Badlands if they escaped.
» If you choose to re-apply between now and the month of April, you may not re-apply during the month of April to participate in the Return plot.
» In this case, reserves function as usual: they are open when apps are closed, and the reserve is held for the first week of the following app period.

Details of the Return plot will be given closer to the event's start date. For now, suffice to say that as the name suggests, the Glyphless will be returning and we don't have any particularly evil or unpleasant surprises in store for those who agree to participate. Note, as well, that you will have to fill out the full application if you re-app your Glyphless and that re-apping does not guarantee an accept!

The rest of December is set to be a quiet month for the game's metaplot, but we will be having a nice big item drop near the end of the month. Keep your eyes on the OOC comm – we'll have a group item request post up soon. Alignment Adjustments will be up this coming Tuesday.

Unfortunately, this will not be possible. You currently play TFP Wheeljack, who has canon interaction with TFP Optimus Prime. One player may not play two characters with canon interaction in Re/Alignment. We were lenient with this rule during Glyphless accepts because they were temporary characters. If you wish to play them as full characters, you will have to choose one or the other.

I'd love to bring Rodimus back!

However, I'm not sure if I'd be allowed to? At the moment I already play two IDW characters as I apped them before the rule shift of living/dead canon. Sooo I'd kinda want to know sooner rather than later if I could app him. :|a

Unfortunately, the answer is no. We're allowing people to exceed the game's current per-canon limits by one character, which caps characters from "live" canons at 2. You're already at the maximum.

So your options are as follows:

1 - You can keep the two IDW characters you have and let Rodimus go.

2 - You can drop one of your two IDW characters before December 22nd and we'll hold your reserve for Rodimus until April 2013.

3 - You can keep playing your two current IDW characters for now. If no one has apped Rodimus by April, you can drop one then and re-app Rodimus.

I'm going to tentatively reserve Ironfist for the Return. However, if I decide otherwise, so that someone else could app him as a regular character, I can still do that, right?

Unfortunately, this won't be possible. We're allowing people to exceed the game's current per-canon limits by one character, which caps characters from "live" canons at 2. You're already at the maximum, since you play both IDW Drift and IDW Whirl.

Additionally, given the length of time that they will be held, we cannot accept any tentative reserves. Anyone requesting that we hold their reserve until the Return is expected to commit to participating in the plot.

So your options are as follows:

1 - You can keep the two IDW characters you have and let Ironfist go.

2 - You can drop one of your two IDW characters before December 22nd and we'll hold your reserve for Ironfist until April 2013.

3 - You can keep playing your two current IDW characters for now. If no one has apped Ironfist by April, you can drop one then and re-app Ironfist.

Just a curiosity question...

Do the Glyphless that come back with all their CR also retain all the memories of their MURDER-DEATH-MAYHEM crazytime? Or do they lose some memories just prior to death like other deaths?

Excellent question! We'll be leaving that up to each individual player. If they'd like their character to remember the full, gory details, they are free to do so; if they'd rather not inflict those memories on their character, then they can just have them remember everything up until they went mad; or they could remember only bits and pieces of their past stay in the Haven. Whichever you'd prefer!
