Character name: Chromedome Tumbler
Character journal: [personal profile] needlefingers
Altered History:

As far as Tumbler is concerned, he got away from Cybertron just before the war started. He escaped with Prowl to the far edges of the galaxy where he's been living for the entirety of the war. That doesn't mean that he's never seen battle though, the universe is a dangerous place. While he's not as efficient as a fighter as Chromedome is, he still learned enough to help protect his fellow NAILs. Tumbler has worked in law enforcement for most of his life, and is actually kind of happy with the work he’s done.

Since Tumbler had gotten away in time with Prowl, he never caught Zeta Prime's attention, and as a result Tumbler had never learned how to do mnemosurgery. Oh sure he still had a vague interest in it, but out there he never really got the chance to learn it. Obviously this means that he never went to Kimia, and that he hadn't seen Brainstorm in a very, very long time. Tumbler was apart from the war, so he never met Mach, Pivot, Scattergun, or Rewind, and instead developed his relationship further with Prowl, making him his Conjunx Endura. They’ve been together for the whole duration of the war and Prowl is the most important person in Tumbler’s life.

The war ended and it was time to return to their home. At first Tumbler was reluctant to leave, but was eventually convinced to go. He was on his way to return to Cybertron when he ended up in the Haven.

Altered Personality:

Tumbler is… happy. Or as happy as one can be while knowing that their planet is dead. Still, having not taken an active part of the war, Tumbler has very little reason to feel guilty or angry as his Chromedome counterpart. His conscience is relatively free, and he’s definitely not as much of a tool. Not being constantly manipulated is fun and leads to a happier, healthier person. Unlike Chromedome, Tumbler’s moral compass isn’t quite so fluid. He knows what’s right and wrong, and he won’t compromise it for any reason. Generally, you won’t find Tumbler sulking in a corner over something, that’s just childish.

The dry, snarky sense of humour that Chromedome is known for is present in Tumbler as well. The difference is that his humour isn’t nearly as bitter and world-weary. Life sucks from time to time, but sometimes you just have to deal with it. Instead of just acting like he’s a good-natured bot, he actually is one. Tumbler is known for his optimistic and upbeat personality. At the same time though, Tumbler still doesn’t do that well on his own, as he tends to make really bad decisions when left unattended. Hey, it seemed like a good idea at the time?

Tumbler believes in remembering things. Nothing stays the same, and he takes it upon himself to remember them in any way, shape, or form. This leads him to collecting lots of memorabilia that he keeps in the house he shares with Prowl. He doesn’t bother trying to be neat about it though, so he generally puts things wherever it looks like it fits. When it comes to his view on the war, Tumbler fully blames the Autobots and the Decepticons for killing off a good portion of their race, and for the destruction of their precious homeworld.

Altered Appearance: Chromedome pretty much looks the same as he does now, except he doesn’t have needles on his hands.
